A performing artist since early childhood, Elio Scaccio has been singing virtually his entire life. Having had huge success with his breakout, debut CD, Lettere D’Amore, Elio is on the rise with the upcoming release of his 2nd CD, Somewhere. With his captivating, silky-smooth tenor voice, ringing high notes, warm inviting tone, and unmistakable stage presence, Elio is a performer of the highest caliber. His versatility has made him a sought after artist for many different venues. As a young boy, Elio developed a firm understanding of the relationship between melody and complex harmony. By the age of eight, he was already widely recognized as a gifted vocalist, appearing locally and regionally as part of an a Capella troupe that included his two brothers. By the time he reached high school, Elio already had years of experience performing both familiar standards as well as classical pieces. As a student, he studied theater arts and performance leading to both supporting and leading roles throughout high school. Despite a love for the classics, Elio also developed an interest in pop, jazz, and rock music.
In college, the budding tenor focused special attention on studying jazz vocal technique and performance. He also continued classical training at the renowned Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University. Although studying classically at the time, Elio was performing with various pop and rock groups, ultimately touring from Florida to Vermont in various venues.
Along the way, Elio recorded CDs with two separate professional touring bands during this period. One hit single, ran three plus weeks at the top of the charts as the #1 requested song on a pop radio station in Milan, Italy.
In 2008 Elio decided to go back to his family roots, and began singing classically once again. With the release of Lettere D’Amore in 2010, Elio’s music career took off. Performing in concert halls, clubs, festivals, TV and radio, his fan base grew across the country, from Los Angeles, to Florida, to New York, and beyond.
Most recently, in tribute to the devastating earthquakes in Italy, Elio has been honored by the much admired and respected Columbus Citizens Foundation to perform live on ABC-TV’s Red Carpet Stage for the Foundations Annual 5th Avenue Columbus Day Parade. One of the truly distinguishing qualities of this talented artist is his ability to “crossover” between classical, pop standards, Italian ethnic, and occasionally, even the vintage rock.
With the help of Elio’s stage presence, professionalism, and vocal ability, he has been performing around the country as part of a widely known group, The Sicilian Tenors, and as a valuable part of a new touring show, Two Gents & The Lady.
Although Elio has been classically trained under the supervision of several renowned opera tenors, he always maintains his unmistakable pop essence. He launched his first solo CD, Lettere D’Amore (Letters of Love), in November of 2010. This pop-classical CD features original compositions written by the gifted artist, as well as Italian favorites.
